About an hour ago, I had this urge to read manga. Thus, I went on mangareader. While I was scrolling down after reading Bakuman and Enigma, Scarlet Palace caught my eye. The summary seemed intriguing. The art being from a Chinese manhua certainly takes on its own style apart from the typical Japanese manga art.
Scarlet Palace is set in historical times back in China when there were palaces filled with servants and eunuchs and royalty.
As the war-torn kingdoms vie for power in Ancient China, a deadly yet beautiful struggle also emerges in the seraglio of the King of Ding (King Xun)! In order to gain the terrifying King Xun's favor, Ninghu's family is determined to make her the future Queen, but King Xun is not interested in his other concubines at all. The first five chapters were amazing. I can't wait to read the rest and finish it. Someone should make this a drama already!
